When you were little, did you have a favorite toy that you had for years and years?
Why this silly question? Because, my family and I just got done watching all three Toy Story movies. It brought up memories of my childhood. And, of course, my childhood was very different than my husbands. 🙂
My favorite toy since I was little was a medium sized Teddy bear. It is a Christmas bear and played holiday music and had a heart that lit up. I named his Jesus (not sure why I chose that name since I did not grow up in a religious family). I had him for as long as I can remember. Whenever I felt sad, nervous, or just needed a hug, I would go to him. I talked to him. Cried on him. Feel asleep on him. Protected him as much as possible. He was the one that stayed with me through everything. I never even thought about letting him go.
I still have this Christmas bear. He use to be always on a shelf in my room. But he has not been out of a box since we moved into our new house over a year ago. I had forgotten about him until we watched Toy Story 3. I hate that movie! OK, I love it but hate that it made me feel so sad. So now I feel horrible not unpacking my Christmas bear and forgetting about it. After all the times he was there for me, and I just forgot him!
Lol. Only certain people will understand me. To others, like my husband, I am crazy. 🙂 He grew up not attached to any toy so he does not understand my attachment to my bear.
My goal is to find my bear and free him from his box! But my next obstacle is going to be protecting it from my two year daughter who is still learning how to take care of toys!
Sorry for the weird post, but just a future warning: I AM WEIRD. 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
****In other life news: we received my daughter’s new birth certificate!!! How exciting! Everything is completely finalized!! It is wonderful to see our names under the “parents” section. Amazing!!!
***Potty Training update: She is doing GREAT! She caught on so fast. Currently, she has no more accidents in the day. Wears panties all day. Nap time, she wakes up dry in pull up. In stores, she does great in holding until we get to the bathroom (I was so worried about this). Just at night time, she still wears a diaper because she does not wake up to pee. We have no idea on how to figure this one out….
Until next time,
